Sugar is poison for the pancreas. Every year, approximately 65,000 people in Germany develop chronic pancreatitis and more than 17,000 people develop pancreatic tumours.
Pancreas Day on 10 May 2023 is an important event to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic tumours. The pancreas plays a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels and digesting food. When this organ is affected by a disease, it can greatly affect a person's daily life.
