Optional services are services that go beyond the normal scope of general hospital services and that a patient can choose voluntarily. As a stay in hospital is an unfamiliar and often demanding situation for many people, services over and above the standard care can provide relief for some people. At Heidelberg University Hospital, we do our best every day to provide you and your relatives with the best possible care. Your medical treatment always comes first. At the same time, we want to make your stay in our clinics as pleasant as possible. For this reason, we offer you accommodation in one of our comfort rooms in addition to the standard care. These single or double rooms are furnished to a high standard and are comfortable. In addition, we offer supplementary services that are included in the price. You can terminate the agreement at any time during your hospital stay with immediate effect - without giving any reasons.
The rates are coordinated with all private health insurers (PKV) in Germany. If your private insurance includes accommodation in a single or double room, your private health insurance will cover the additional costs. Statutory health insurance companies do not cover optional services. It is best to find out from your insurance company before your stay in hospital whether they will cover the costs. If you do not have such insurance, you can make use of the accommodation in a comfort room at your own expense. If you wish to make use of optional services, you must conclude a written contract with the hospital. After your discharge, you will receive an invoice for the agreed optional services.
ATTENTION: Comfort rooms are not available in intensive care and monitoring wards. If possible, we will gladly reserve an individual comfort room for you for the time after the operation, intensive care unit and monitoring ward.
If you are interested in accommodation in a comfort room, please indicate this directly on arrival at the VTS.
